#2 – I have my eyes on…

16 Aug

I am all about long skirts with bright and pale colors. I have spotted these two cutties, but I can’t make a decision… I know. Women can be so undecided most of the time sometimes.

Anyway, I have to attend a wedding next month and I can’t make up my mind between a dress and a skirt. Grrrr.

August Birchbox… I adore you.

15 Aug

Hey there,

2 weeks ago, I was browsing through one of my favorite french blogs, Punky B | The Fashion Diary, and Punky was talking about the content of her July Glossy Box.

Glossy What? What izzzz tis? … That’s what I thought.

And that’s what she replied: “C’est une sélection de 5 produits cosmétiques en version miniature que vous recevez chaque mois en souscrivant un abonnement, comme pour les magazines.”

Hehehe. Do You Speak French? If not, I’ll be kind enough today and will translate this part for you.

Basically, Punky was explaining that the Glossy box is a selection of 5 deluxe samples that you get every month in your mail box for something like 13 euros. WTF?!! OMG I thought. I want it! But they would not deliver in the US. Damn it Glossy! Why are you so lame difficult?

But I knew that uncle Sam had to might have something similar. Com’On the French have it and not Americans? No way – Yes way!

So I did a little research. Asking my bff Google what he’d think. And he came up with Birchbox. Even cheaper than the Glossy Box (well there is 4 samples instead of 5 – makes sense). I didn’t even think for another second and suscribed right away.

Got my first package this week and I have to admit, I am not disappointed. I love every single deluxe samples that I got. Except the black twistband. Not my thing. The weird thing though, is that when I go on their website, the twistbands they display sound way more appealing that the one I got… Oh wait a minute, this is called… marketing!

So here are the products that I was slucky enough to try this month:

From left to right:

The Cool Fix by Shaveworks; a gel that helps prevent red irritations and bumps. Really good for armpits, legs and the bikini zone.

Papaya Purifying Enzyme Mask by June Jacobs; a creamy mask that helps get ride of dead cells.

Photo Finish Foundation Primer by Smashbox; a primer that will make your make-up last all day long.

Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel by Ouidad; a gel to fight frizz.

Personally, I have – so far – only used the June Jacobs masks and the Smashbox Primer. And I love both of them! Seriously, the Primer is like candy on the skin. So soft and velvety. I could rub my face with it for hours. As to say if my make-up stays in place all day, I am not sure… I tend to have a mix skin – oily on the T-Zone – and despite using Smashbox Primer, it is still shinny and oily after a few hours.

The mask on the other hand is great! I love the fact that I can apply it on my face without feeling any stickiness on my skin. It still breathes. The mask is so light – I almost forgot I had it on!- And it smells wonderfully nice. Definitely a winner.

Will let you know more about the The Cool Fix and the Heat & Humidity Control Gel once I’ve tried them.

Pouch Dream comes true…

28 Jul

I have been dying to put my hands on a cool and fun (perhaps colorful) pouch.

I am such a princess, that so far nothing had caught my interest for more than 5 minutes. Nothing so far had gotten my heartbeats go a little faster, my hands get completely sweaty and my eyes jump out of their sockets. But this was before I met with Blue Q.

Gosh Blue Q, where have you been this whole time? I have been looking for you, day dreaming of something like you in my life, praying for us to meet… And here you are. Finally. I have one thing to say people. Believe it or not , but dreams actually come true when you pray hard enough.

Good to know.

I am not very familiar with the company but I think they have been around for over two decades now. The company was actually founded by two brothers, Seth & Mitch Nash. They both are the brains and creativeness behind all the products.

And their products range is big; you have everything from bags to soaps via gums and so much more. All the products are so great looking that you just want to keep them in your living room and look cool when having guest over… I like the retro inspiration of the brand. There is un petit-je-ne-sais-quoi and you should definitely go and check it out!

I actually just ordered this cute Airmail zipper pouch and this adorable “What? I Owe You Money?” coins purse. And when I was about to check out, I laid my eyes on this useful and yet meaningful tin bank called  “I am Savin’ up for new shoes!“.

I am so excited, can’t wait to get them in the mail!

Spotted | Neon Pink Tutu & Stripper platform shoes

27 Jul

If one would asked me what is it that I love the most about New York City, I’d say without a shred of hesitation “the unlimited amount of styles“. People walk around the city wearing outfits and/or accessorized that you would never see one wearing anywhere else. Oh wait… that is not entirely true, London is pretty much the same way too, and this is why we love the Brits!

Anyway, here is a white & neon pink Tutu that I spotted a few weeks back.

I saw this woman wearing this white & neon pink tutu and feeling totally cool about it. One may think “she must have been headed to a costume party. Give her a break”. There are some things that you can guess, call it your inner sense or just call it whatever it pleases you to call. The bottom line being she was not going to any costume parties according to my inner moi. In a normal situation I wouldn’t mind the tutu thing. I actually like it. I think it is a nice piece of clothing that can make you steal the spotlights… if it is paired with the right accessories, shoes and top…

Speaking of shoes….

I spotted this woman last night wearing those amazing platform shoes. Gosh, I think I have never seen something that cool and stylish in the same time. Not sure it is comfortable though. She said that she got them in a vintage store and that they are… – hold on tight! – vintage stripper shoes. WTF? I know.

Just found out that a little Google research shows up a decent amount of vintage wooden stripper shoes option. But the question remains….

If you said yes, well you should totally go and check out what Booty Cocktails (sigh) has to offer .

#1 – I have my eyes on…

26 Jul

I am literally in love with whatever does Stolen Thunder. This creative UK company has it all. Behind the amazing pieces are two talented designers Alice Burlinson and Joy Frost. Each of their work is clearly inspired by childhood memories. So cute.

As far as this neon Cambridge Satchel is concerned, I am dying to put my hands on this amazingly, fabulously looking bag. Everything is perfection; the color, the size, the fact that you can emboss your initials, name or whichever else goes through your mind is just par-fait.
